How I Embraced My Monthly Moon Cycle and Found Healing Through Kundalini Yoga, Therapy, and Natural Medicine
As a woman, I have experienced the ebbs and flows of my moon cycle for as long as I can remember. However, in recent years, I have noticed a pattern of emotional dysregulation that takes place every month. At first, I found it frustrating and challenging to navigate. But over time, I have come to see it as an opportunity to learn and grow.
Once I gained self-awareness, I began to harness the energy of my trauma to heal and bring forth my whole self. For the past five years, I have been practicing Kundalini Yoga, a type of yoga that combines physical movements, breathing techniques, and meditation. This form of yoga has helped me to support my nervous system and glandular system, and I have seen tremendous results. Kundalini Yoga has helped me to heal my nervous system and reduce the impact of my symptoms during my moon cycle. It has also helped me become more aware of myself, allowing me to grow and evolve as a person.
In addition to Kundalini Yoga, I also do CrossFit and take long walks with my dog. These physical activities help me to release stress and tension from my body, giving me a sense of physical strength and mental clarity. I also see a naturopathic doctor once a month. She treats me with acupuncture and sound healing, along with vitamins and supplements that support my overall well-being.
To further support my mental health, I see a therapist every week. Together, we work on organizing my thoughts and cleaning up any lingering effects of trauma in my mind. My therapist helps me rearrange the pieces of my heart that were once broken, so that I can feel whole again.
Through this journey of self-discovery and growth, I have come to realize that emotional dysregulation is not something to be ashamed of. It is an opportunity to learn and grow, and to become the best version of ourselves. Here are some lifestyle tips that have helped me along the way:
1 Practice yoga regularly: Incorporating yoga into your daily routine can help support your nervous system and glandular system, reduce stress, and promote overall well-being. Start with simple postures and gradually increase your practice as your body and mind become more comfortable.
2 Mindful walking: Taking a walk in nature or simply around your neighborhood can help clear your mind and reduce stress. Focus on your breathing and the sensation of your feet on the ground to stay present in the moment.
3 Seek professional support: Working with a therapist or naturopathic doctor can provide you with tools and resources to manage emotional dysregulation and promote overall wellness.
4 Find a physical activity you enjoy: Engaging in physical activity, such as CrossFit, can help build strength and resilience in both the body and mind. Experiment with different activities to find what works best for you.
5 Stay connected with others: Building a support system of friends and loved ones can provide you with emotional support and help you feel less alone in your journey. Consider joining a support group or community organization to connect with others who share similar experiences.
Remember, these tips are not a one-size-fits-all solution, but rather suggestions to help you on your journey towards emotional regulation and overall wellness. Always listen to your body and seek professional guidance when necessary.
